The Chief Justice is expected to swear in Ali Abdullahi Surraw as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), formally ushering him into office.
The swearing in is expected to happen on Monday, January 12.
Surraw takes over leadership of the commission mandated to set and review the salaries and benefits of state officers and advise on remuneration frameworks across the public sector.
His appointment as Commission Secretary/CEO was approved by the National Assembly in December 2025, following vetting by the Labour Committee.
His appointment comes at a time when the SRC is under heightened public scrutiny over the management of the public wage bill and the sustainability of compensation structures for public servants.
Surraw was among seven shortlisted candidates in August, 2025.
