Zetech Sparks are looking to carry lessons from their last outing into an away test against Kibera Soccer Women when the FKF Women’s Premier League resumes today.
The rescheduled fixture will be played at Marist University, Karen, with kickoff set for 1 pm, as the league returns after a two-week break.
Zetech head coach Harriet Fakhir said the break came at the right time after a mixed performance in their previous matches. “We showed better structure and movement,” the coach said. “What we lacked was composure in key moments, and that is what we worked on during the break.”
The Sparks have focused on sharpening their transition play and maintaining intensity away from home, areas the coach believes will be decisive against Kibera. “Away matches demand discipline,” she said. “If we stay organised and brave on the ball, we can get a positive result.”
Sparks have had mixed fortunes in the FKF Women’s Premier League this season, finding the net and challenging top sides but also suffering setbacks.
They were beaten 3‑0 by Kenya Police Bullets in an early-season match where they created opportunities but failed to convert them, a point their coach acknowledged as an area to improve. “We didn’t convert the chances we got today… It becomes hard to win when you don’t utilise the chances,” she said after that loss, urging her squad to focus on accumulating points as the season progresses.
Beyond that, league table data from December 2025 shows Zetech sitting mid‑table with competitive results among the pack, reflecting both resilience and inconsistency as they head into the resumed schedule.
Zetech’s recent progress has been gradual, with the coach noting improved cohesion across the lines. “The players are understanding each other better,” he said. “You can see the growth, even if the results have not fully reflected it yet.”
Zetech know the trip to Karen presents both a challenge and an opportunity to restart strongly, as they aim to turn steady performances into points when league action resumes. Kibera Soccer Women, however, are also seeking a response after defensive lapses cost them in their last game before the break. Their coach, Bob Okallo, said the team has emphasised concentration and recovery.
“We made avoidable mistakes,” he said. “The focus has been on correcting those and being solid as a unit.”
