ELLA AI analyses team formations, past performance, and match dynamics/HANDOUT

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has partnered with 2025 and 2027 Africa Cup of Nations global sponsors, Tecno, in rolling out ELLA AI Coach for Kenyan fans.

The AI assistant is positioned to help Kenyan fans follow Afcon, currently underway in Morocco, more easily while balancing work, travel and daily responsibilities.

The tournament enters the quarterfinal stage this Friday with interesting match-ups, including Senegal vs Mali, Morocco vs Cameroon, Nigeria vs Algeria and Egypt vs Côte d’Ivoire, the defending champions.

It provides match-related tools, including match decoder, which breaks down team form, tactics and recent performances ahead of fixtures. The feature is aimed at fans who want quick explanations rather than detailed statistical analysis.

To address confusion around fixtures and kick-off times, Snap-and-Know allows users to photograph match listings on television screens, posters or WhatsApp flyers and instantly receive confirmed details such as date, time and venue. TECNO says the feature is intended to reduce missed matches caused by conflicting or unclear information.

For fans unable to watch games live, Daily Highlights deliver short summaries of completed matches, allowing users to stay updated during breaks at work, while commuting or between other activities.

The assistant also includes StarCam, a social feature that lets users create images placing themselves alongside public figures or celebrities as if watching matches together. The tool is designed for sharing on social platforms and reflects the role of digital expression in Kenyan football culture.

Beyond Afcon, ELLA AI Coach continues to function as a general-purpose assistant. Users can rely on it for homework support, answering everyday questions, managing schedules and accessing information, reducing the need to switch between multiple apps.

TECNO says the rollout is part of its wider partnership with CAF, which focuses on integrating technology into African football experiences rather than offering standalone promotional tools.
