Liberia ranks lowest in the 2025 Law and Order Index, with only 49 per cent of residents saying they feel safe walking alone at night.

Sierra Leone follows at 55 per cent, while Chad records 58 per cent.

Uganda and the Republic of the Congo each score 60 per cent, highlighting persistent public safety concerns.

South Africa and Peru post 61 per cent, placing them among countries with relatively low perceptions of law and order.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Kenya, Ecuador, Cameroon and Botswana all record 62 per cent.

The rankings are based on Gallup surveys across 144 countries, involving more than 144,000 respondents worldwide.
