A 62-year-old man died in a fire at his home in Gatugi village, Nyeri County, on New Year’s Day.

Police reported that the man was alone when the fire broke out.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined.

Locals said the man, identified as Eliud Gikara, was sleeping when the fire destroyed his three-room house.

His body was later taken to the local mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Juja, Kiambu County, a man died after falling from the third floor of an apartment building in Withethie area.

The body was found on the ground floor.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the fall were under investigation.

A sharp object was reportedly found in the man’s pocket. Guards at the scene reported hearing a loud noise before discovering the body.

The body has been moved to the mortuary for identification and an autopsy.

In Bondo, Siaya County, police are investigating after a man was found dead outside a guest house.

The victim, identified as Victor Kingori, 23, had visible injuries.

A blood-stained kitchen knife and a gas cylinder were found near the body.

The motive for the death is under investigation, and the body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Nairobi, detectives are investigating the death of an Indian national, Thandalam Madapusi Soundara, 31, who was found with stab wounds outside an apartment in the Kilimani area on New Year’s Day.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital by a passerby but later died.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

The Indian High Commission has been informed.

Soundara was an employee of a service provider in digital and network solutions for the telecom and media industries.

His body has been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.

Police said investigations are ongoing in all the reported incidents.
