Jepther Bundi scored the lone goal for Kibera Black Stars as they condemned Migori Youth to their third loss of the season at Gems Cambridge College in Nairobi. It was Bundi’s fifth goal of the season. “It’s a huge boost for us. A third consecutive win after losing five games is a huge morale booster for us,” said Badi.

Reflecting on the game against Migori Youth, Badi said: “Migori mostly uses aerial balls, and we decided to play our game, which is carpet football. That’s how we managed to overcome Migori. It was intense; they had theirs, and we also had ours. It was our day.”

He said they have now trained their guns on Fortune Sacco on Sunday. “We are heading to Kianyaga with our heads high. The three consecutive wins have boosted our morale,” added the tactician.

“Our approach in away games is to score early. I know Fortune Sacco is a good side. Last season, we drew home and away. They have a new coach (Vincent Nyaberi) and have been on top form, but we are going there for maximum points,” he added. Nyaberi joined Fortune Sacco two weeks ago after parting ways with Mully Children’s Family (MCF).

He said their target is to finish the year in a top-three position. “We only have two days to prepare for the game, and we know our target is to go for the Christmas break in a top-four position,” remarked Badi.

At the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Sports Club, Mombasa United returned to winning ways after a 3-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Mwatate United. Nehemia Onchiri, Fidel Madiela, and Kepher Riziki were on target for Gilbert Selebwa’s side. It was the fourth consecutive loss for coach Evans Mafuta since he joined the team.

Mafuta, however, said that there is no need to panic. “We are going to strengthen the team in the mid-season transfer window. We want to sign about 10 experienced players to boost our chances of surviving relegation,” he added.
