The children of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo are reportedly exhibiting a stark change in behaviour since her demise, according to their biological father, Pastor Victor Kanyari.
Speaking to his congregation during last Sunday’s service at Salvation Healing Ministries, Pastor Kanyari addressed the challenges he faces with Sky and Danivictor (also referred to as Danny).
Betty Bayo passed away on Monday, 10 November, while receiving treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia. Her burial took place on 20 November at her land in Kiambu.

A Father’s Concern
Pastor Kanyari told his congregants that since their mother's death, his children’s behaviour had become significantly altered.
He noted that the youngsters had become “wakali kiasi” (somewhat fierce/aggressive).
The preacher expressed confusion, questioning whether they were being taught wrongly.

He also remarked that they were questioning him too much.
"Since their mother died, they have become somewhat aggressive, I don’t even know whether they are being taught wrongly or what... they are questioning me so much.”

Background to the Custody Debate
The biological father’s comments come amid intense public debate over the children's future.
Since their mother’s passing, Sky and Danivictor have remained under the care of their stepfather, Hiram Gitau alias Tash.
Tash had been raising the children alongside Betty Bayo prior to her demise.
The custody issue intensified after Betty Bayo’s mother publicly called on Pastor Kanyari to take responsibility. She also raised concerns about the children remaining under Tash's care.
The KSh 91 Million Plan
During the same sermon, Pastor Kanyari, the biological father, confirmed he is ready to take full responsibility for his children. He explained that his previous restraint was deliberate and out of respect for Tash's role.
“There is the father who sired them and the one who raised them. We are two fathers,” Kanyari stated. He added that he avoided conflict during the emotional period.
“If I wanted conflict, I would have gone there with people and demanded my children. But I did not want war,” he explained.
The preacher disclosed details of his plan to house the children. He revealed that he had secured a residence in Runda.

The house is valued at approximately KSh 91 million.

Kanyari told the congregation that the house is fully processed and ready for them. He plans for the children to live there together with Betty Bayo's sister.
He expressed his intention to complete the transition soon.
"I think this week I may take them and stay with them. I will raise them,” he said.
Despite the announcement of the move, the preacher did not clarify whether formal legal steps would be involved in transferring custody from Tash.
As of now, no official custody arrangement has been publicly confirmed by the families. Netizens have expressed varied opinions, noting that the children may need time to heal emotionally.
