Nairobi’s marketing industry leaders converged on Friday, December 5, 2025, for the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) Annual Awards Gala.

The prestigious black-tie event, hosted at the Mövenpick Hotel in Westlands, celebrated the country’s top achievements in marketing excellence.

The 2025 Gala, themed “Celebrating Innovation. Inspiring Excellence,” saw hundreds of professionals recognised for work driven by data, technology, and purpose.

A total of 235 entries were submitted for consideration across over 18 categories, highlighting the immense participation this year.

Patrick Kiburi Kilemi, Principal Secretary for Co-operatives, served as the Chief Guest. He emphasised the sector's crucial economic role.

“Marketing is no longer just about communication; it is about shaping industries, driving innovation, and supporting sustainable economic development,” he stated.

Tusker’s Campaign Sweeps Major Categories

East African Breweries Limited (EABL), through its Tusker brand, achieved massive success with the Stitched with Cheer campaign. This campaign was named the coveted Marketing Campaign of the Year.

The campaign also secured top honours in two other primary categories.

Integrated Marketing Campaign of the Year: Winner: Tusker (EABL), Stitched with Cheer. The 1st runner-up was the Airtel Na Bado campaign, executed by Ogilvy Africa.

Brand Communication Campaign of the Year: Winner: Tusker (EABL), Stitched with Cheer. GA Insurance’s His/Ours campaign, by The Partnership Africa, was 1st runner-up.

The robust nature of submissions this year was acknowledged by Chief Judge Ken Kariuki.

“The depth of strategy, creativity, data application, and social impact demonstrated in this year’s entries made 2025 one of the most competitive editions in the history of the MSK Awards,” noted Mr Kariuki.

Safaricom Crowned Company of the Year

Safaricom PLC took home the esteemed Company of the Year award. The company also achieved major wins for its Safaricom BLIVE initiative.

New Product Launch of the Year: Winner: Safaricom, for Safaricom BLIVE (Agency: ScanAd). KCB Group’s KCB Multicurrency Card (Agency: Ogilvy Africa) was the 1st runner-up.

Best Experiential Marketing Campaign: Winner: Safaricom, for Safaricom BLIVE: Browse Bila Waas. KCB Group’s Revvvisha & Feel the Roar campaign was 1st runner-up.

In the digital sphere, Airtel Kenya’s SMARTA WITH DATA campaign, implemented by The Partnership Africa, won the Best Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year.

Top Professional and Social Impact Wins

KCB Group professionals secured two major individual accolades.

Marketer of the Year: Winner: Ceaserine Nkatha Mutungi from KCB Group, with Zipporah Ndung'u of Chrome (EABL) being crowned 1st runner-up.

Rising Star of the Year: Winner: Michelle Nyaribari from KCB Group. Elizabeth Otieno from Kenya Breweries Ltd was the 1st runner-up.

The Best Sustainability / CSR Campaign award went to My Dawa & Kenya Red Cross for their vital FIRST BODA campaign, which was executed by the Ogilvy Africa agency. Britam’s Lea Mama campaign became the first runner-up.

Kenya Power won the Public Sector Marketing of the Year for its Nuru ya Kenya campaign. This campaign highlighted the MyPower App and the *977# service. The WRC Safari Rally campaign was the 1st runner-up.

Additional Noteworthy Winners

Best Use of AI/Data in Marketing: Diageo Kenya’s Marketing Effectiveness campaign won. The campaign was executed by Catalyst 3.0 agency. In this category, Airtel Kenya’s Airtel Change Habit campaign by Ogilvy Africa became 1st runner-up.

Best PR Campaign of the year: Museum of Illusions Launch won. This campaign was executed by Africa Elite Group agency. 1st runner-up was ABSA Bank’s Your Story Matters campaign.

Small Budget Creativity of the year: KETEPA’s Valentines 2025, Envelops of Love campaign by Kazan promotions won as KFC’s Makosa Ilifanyika became 1st runner-up.

Product Re-launch of the year: Tusker Lite won with Turn up the Lite (EABL) Campaign. Dailyland BSSL’s New Drip, Same Dazzle campaign became 1st runner-up.

The Superlative Trailblazer of the year award went to Dr Patricia Murugami.
