The National Assembly of Kenya is mourning the loss of a colleague. Speaker Rt. Hon. Dr. Moses Wetang’ula announced the passing of Nominated Member of Parliament, the late Hon. Denar Joseph Hamisi.
The MP passed away this morning. The Speaker conveyed the news with profound sadness.
A Devoted Public Servant
Hon. Denar served Parliament and the entire nation with distinction. His commitment was described as unwavering, marked by humility and dedication.
His service extended beyond his current term in Parliament. Before joining the Assembly, Hon.
Denar had an extensive career. He worked across both the public and private sectors. This history stands as a testament to his lifelong devotion to Kenya.

“Hon. Denar served this House and the nation with unwavering dedication, humility, and commitment,” said Wetang’ula.
During his time in the House, Hon. Hamisi held key roles. He was a member of the Departmental Committee on Sports & Culture. He also served on the Select Committee on National Cohesion & Equal Opportunities.
Coordinating the Farewell
Following the tragic announcement, the National Assembly moved quickly to support the family. Speaker Wetang’ula confirmed that a liaison team has been appointed.
This team is tasked with liaising with the MP’s family, friends, and constituents. Its purpose is to support a fitting farewell for the late Hon. Hamisi.
The team is being led by a senior member of Parliament. Hon. Owen Baya Yaa, CBS, MP, Deputy Leader of the Majority Party, will head the group.
Deepest Condolences
The Speaker extended his deepest and most heartfelt condolences to those affected. He offered sympathies to the late MP’s family, friends, and constituents.
Condolences were also extended to all who were touched by Hon. Denar’s steadfast service.
These sentiments were offered on behalf of the Speaker himself and the entire Parliamentary fraternity. The National Assembly also joined in extending its sympathies. 
The Speaker concluded by wishing strength and comfort to those grieving during this difficult time.
