Content creator and media personality Steve Thompson, popularly known as Oga Obinna, has publicly celebrated a significant academic achievement.

He announced his graduation from Mount Kenya University (MKU) with his first-ever degree, earning a First Class Honours.

The comedian and host took to his social media platforms to mark the occasion.

“Today I graduate with a first-class honour, Bachelor of Arts in mass media and communication (pr option) from the MKU. So, it has been possible all along!” he posted.

 His posts offered a deeply personal reflection on his challenging educational journey, which included dropping out of school.

The Triumph of a Comeback

Obinna’s achievement is being celebrated as a powerful story of perseverance and returning to education later in life. He dedicated the milestone to the hard work and dedication required to overcome past struggles.

“From the village, to the city, to the streets, to the hustle, the struggle, and back to school. It’s been an interesting ride,” he added.

He addressed the contrast between his initial academic difficulties and his final success. The graduation ceremony for the 28th cohort at MKU was held on Friday, December 5, 2025.

"I wanna thank GOD. He has never left my side, silently guided me on what to do and how to, even when other mortals wouldn't understand what, why, or how. Secondly, I wanna thank ME! Oga@DTop for trusting my Intuition and never giving up!!" he shared.
