Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is back in the spotlight, this time after announcing the birth of his daughter on social media.
The flamboyant politician shared the new baby's birth notification from AAR Hospital, naming her Ameeliah Reign Kalerwa.
The baby girl was born on 29th November 2025 and weighed 2.790 kilograms.
The ID Number Dissection
While many followers offered congratulations, the comment section quickly turned into a dissection of the mother’s personal details. Social media users zoomed in on the obscured birth notification.

The ID number on the document, partially visible, appeared to begin with the prefix "37...".
Some social media users were quick to note that in Kenya, ID numbers starting with this prefix are generally issued to individuals born between 1999 and 2000.
This detail instantly sparked a debate online. One commenter noted that a mother with an ID starting with 37 would likely be a "Gen-Z mother, born in the year 1999/2000" and potentially a student.

Another person suggested that the ID was linked to a mother who must be around 20 years old.
"ID Number: 37... That's a Gen-Z mother, born in the year 1999/2000. Hospital: Roysambu — most likely, a Student at KU, and of course, the mountain is united,” Komen SK commented.
“The mother ID is 37; that must be a 20-year-old Gen-Z,” Elvis Mlb said.
Marriage and Paternity Questions Resurface
The news of the newborn, whom some users referred to as the MP's "second born," reignited a recurring public discussion about the MP's marital status and family life.
The politician is a bachelor, and his previous child was born only months earlier, leading to commentary on his growing family.
Commenters urged the bachelor MP to officially marry one of the children's mothers.
"Your second born, yet you haven't married... Now pick one of the mothers akuwe bibi,” said another one.

Background: The 'Second Born' Announcement
The birth of Ameeliah Reign is Salasya’s latest high-profile addition to his family. This follows a previous incident just months prior, where the MP had excitedly introduced his first child on social media.
On 13th June, 2025, the MP introduced a cute baby boy on social media, after revealing that the baby was born around April.
From the nose to the skin tone, Salasya jokingly remarked that he didn’t need a DNA test to confirm the child was his.
“Mapua ya huyu mtoto ni ya Waluhya,” Salasya captioned the post, cheekily pointing out the Luhya heritage evident in the baby's appearance. He added, “Ni mweupe kama mimi huyu. Aki huyu hata DNA sitaki. Nimekubali.”
The birth notification for Ameeliah Reign clearly lists the mother's first name as Sheila. One commenter specifically acknowledged the mother in the thread: "Salimia Sheila, the mother to Reign".
