This rebrand follows a major personal shift for the star. Months earlier, in July 2025, DJ Kezz Kenya publicly converted to Islam.

The news of her conversion broke via a Facebook post, dated Friday, July 12, 2025.

"Alhamdulillah. We've taken our Shahada ❤️? This is the beginning of the most beautiful chapter yet!” she wrote.

The Shahada is the Islamic declaration of faith. Kezz’s adoption of the Islamic faith was a significant and unexpected development.

It is currently unknown what her official Islamic name is.

In September 2025, the artist formerly known as Zaituni Wambui announced a significant rebrand to just Zaituni. She stated the change marked a pivotal moment in her career.

The decision was driven by a desire for full autonomy.

"The decision to drop the last name and move forward as Zaituni is a desire to have full autonomy over my name and likeness, not only as an artist but also in my personal life.”

Zaituni assured fans that the essence of her music remains unchanged despite the shift.

On April 2025, musician Miss P resurfaced after nearly a year, announcing her rebranding and a profound personal transformation through her faith in God. She made it clear that she wished to be known as Miss Princessah.

"I prayed and fasted over this new name. As a child of the King of Kings, I am royalty. That’s why I chose ‘Princessah,’ the Spanish word for princess. The version of Miss P you all knew is gone. I am now a new person, prepared, pruned, and equipped by God for His purpose,” she stated.

The comedian and singer known as Cartoon Comedian also made a drastic change in November 2024. She announced she would now be identified as Vanessa Akinyi.
