Gospel musician and pastor Linet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8, has once again defended her advice encouraging couples to pray before engaging in intimacy.

Speaking alongside her husband, DJ Mo, the preacher emphasised the spiritual nature of marriage during an appearance at a business launch over the weekend.

The couple was speaking to online media at the launch of the third branch of the car sales business, Urban Wheels.

DJ Mo took the opportunity to recommend Urban Wheels to fans, noting that the company provides "all-round vehicles," including 4x4s and V8s, suitable for executive needs and even event services like weddings.

The Defence of Silent Prayer

When asked about the controversial advice she had previously given to couples, Size 8 offered a defence rooted in her faith.

The gospel artiste stated clearly that she was speaking in her capacity as a servant of God.

She explained that people often fail to understand that life is very spiritual. Size 8 contended that marriage is hated by the enemy.

“Life is very spiritual. The enemy hates marriages because it’s a replica of Christ, who is the main groom, and the body/the church, which is the bride. The devil hates that because that’s where he was denied everything, and the human race continued,” Size 8 revealed.

The musician clarified that her advice was not suggesting loud or public prayer. Instead, she encouraged couples to quietly involve God in their union.

"What I was telling people about [praying] before intimacy, I wasn't saying that before that act, you start shouting and speaking in tongues. I just meant that you whisper a prayer in your heart. Just whisper a small one or two sentences and just allow the Lord to prevail.”

She concluded by advising couples: "Put your marriage in Christ".

Context of the Controversy

Size 8’s advice on couples and spirituality originally came to public attention around late March 2023. She shared this practice during an interview on Diana Chacha's YouTube channel.

The Kenyan preacher revealed she prays silently before intimacy for specific practical and spiritual reasons.

One of the reasons is the desire to have an intimate desire when her husband, DJ Mo, wants it, even if she does not initially feel ready.

Furthermore, she prays for her husband’s strength and for her own ability to satisfy him fully. This specific prayer is intended to prevent either partner from entertaining thoughts of straying.

The couple views the act of lovemaking as a holy one before the Lord, thus encouraging the involvement of God in all aspects of their marriage.

DJ Mo previously added to the conversation, mentioning that he also prays on his way home, asking God for a good "show".

The advice from the high-profile couple sparked a significant amount of discussion and various reactions online at the time of its initial release.
