Nairobi County’s new Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has publicly offered his support to the two men who shared gospel singer Betty Bayo’s life.

The officer specifically addressed Bayo’s current husband, Hiram Gitau (known as Tash), and her ex-husband, Prophet Victor Kanyari, urging them to unite for the sake of the children.

Mosiria’s plea follows a notable moment of unity at Bayo’s interment ceremony. Tash and Kanyari were seated side-by-side during the funeral rites held at the singer’s farm in Mugumoini, Kiambu, on 20 November.

The image shows Tash and Kanyari seated next to each other in the funeral tent, surrounded by other family members and close friends.

Hiram Gitau (Tash), who is on the left of the image, is dressed in a smart dark green suit and a black tie.

Prophet Victor Kanyari, seated to the right, wears a black military-style jacket-like Kaunda suit.

Betty Bayo’s children, Sky Victor and Danny, were also visible in the same frame. The image captured a rare moment of shared grief and mutual respect between the two fathers.

Chief Officer’s Offer of Guidance

In his post accompanying the photo, Geoffrey Mosiria expressed his deepest condolences. He then extended a direct offer to both men.

“To my two brothers, my condolences, and if you guys need someone to talk to, I will be available for you”.

Mosiria, who was recently reassigned to the Citizen Engagement docket, specifically urged them to coordinate their efforts to ensure a good future for the children.

“Please ensure you combine efforts to give the kids a better life”.

Background on the Children’s Future

Betty Bayo passed away on 10 November 2025 after a battle with leukaemia. The two children, Sky Victor and Danny, are from her relationship with Prophet Victor Kanyari.

The issue of the children’s welfare has received significant public attention. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and President William Ruto had earlier pledged a combined KSh 10 million to an education trust fund established for the two children.

Geoffrey Mosiria's intervention adds a government official's voice to the public push for the children's stable future. His message focused on practical co-parenting tips now that the singer's funeral rites are complete.
