The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is a constitutional body tasked with ensuring the independence, efficiency, and integrity of the judiciary in Kenya.
Its mandate includes recruiting, appointing, and disciplining judicial officers, as well as advising the President on judicial appointments.
The JSC also promotes judicial accountability, safeguards the welfare of judges and magistrates, and ensures fair and transparent selection processes for tribunals and other quasi-judicial positions.
By overseeing judicial appointments and standards, the JSC plays a critical role in upholding the rule of law, access to justice, and public confidence in Kenya’s legal system.
