The SolFest management and Serena Hotels have announced the cancellation of the highly anticipated SolFest pre-party Tanzania 2025.
The event was scheduled to take place on November 22, 2025, at the Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel.
In a joint statement on Tuesday, the organisers said, "The difficult decision followed thoughtful consultations and a review of recent developments that affect our ability to deliver the seamless experience our audiences expect and deserve.”
They emphasised that ensuring the comfort, safety and overall quality of SolFest experiences remains central to their planning.
According to the release, the cancellation was made after internal reviews showed the event would not meet the standards associated with SolFest or the hotel.
The teams stressed that every decision taken had the fans and partners in mind.
“Ensuring the comfort, safety and overall quality of every SolFest moment remains our top priority,” the statement read.
The organisers also assured affected guests and fans that refund processing is already underway.
All ticket holders, they said, will be contacted directly with details on timelines and next steps.
The statement noted that communication will be made on an individual basis to avoid confusion and to ensure that attendees receive accurate information.
The cancellation comes at a time when SolFest has continued to grow its presence in East Africa, creating strong anticipation for the Tanzania edition.
The pre-party was expected to bring together fans, artists, partners and the wider SolFest community.
Despite the setback, the organisers expressed gratitude for the excitement the event had generated.
“We remain deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and support shown toward SolFest Tanzania,” they said, calling the community’s response an important part of the festival’s growth.
They further extended their appreciation to artists, fans and partners who had been preparing for the November showcase.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to our community, artists and partners for their understanding,” the statement added.
Serena Hotels and SolFest Management also provided official communication channels for further assistance.
Guests seeking clarification have been directed to contact the SolFest Africa team through [email protected] or the Serena Hotels marketing team via [email protected]
The statement did not detail the specific issues that led to the cancellation but suggested that the organisers were unwilling to compromise the expected festival standards.
The repeated emphasis on audience experience, safety and comfort pointed to a consistent decision-making approach prioritising event quality.
Consequently, the cancellation of the SolFest pre-party marks a rare pause for an event that has grown into one of the region’s notable music and cultural experiences.
