Businessman, lawyer, and serving senator Ned Nwoko , released a detailed statement refuting allegations of abuse and the claim that he married Regina when she was 17.

Through his X account , he  explained that during their first meeting, he asked her age, and she told him she was 21.

She presented her INEC voter’s card as proof, showing her birthdate as October 10, 1998. Nwoko stated that he has kept this document since then.

''For clarity, during my first meeting with Regina, I asked her age, and she told me she was 21 years old. I further asked if she had any document to support this, and she presented her inec voter’s card, which clearly shows that she was born on October 10th, 1998. I informed her that I would keep this document in my possession, and I have done so since that day.''

He further referenced a BBC interview with Regina’s mother after their marriage, which corroborated her age. Based on verifiable records, he emphasized that their marriage took place six years ago, making Regina 27 today.

Speculations Spark Online Debate

The claims that Nwoko married Regina at 17 have circulated widely on social media, drawing attention and sparking debate among fans.

Nwoko described these allegations as “false and misleading” and advised the public to approach them with caution. He additionally referenced Regina’s ongoing struggle with drug rehabilitation, suggesting that these claims should be considered in light of her current personal challenges.
