Shalkido’s struggles had gained significant public attention. Comedian Eric Omondi notably led a "Sisi kwa Sisi" initiative to assist him. Omondi presented the artist with a brand-new motorbike.

Against this backdrop of public assistance, Terence Creative posted general advice for "fellow artists" on 26 August. Drawing on his industry knowledge, Terence urged artists to invest in their future selves.

He advised them to save, get insurance, and look for a side hustle like selling eggs or groundnuts.

Shalkido reacted strongly to this counsel during an appearance on the Obinna Show Live. He felt Terence’s advice was targeting him during his lowest moment and subsequently responded to Terence with fierce insults.

Terence reacted by clarifying that his advice was general and not aimed at Shalkido personally. However, he noted that Shalkido’s attitude was "so wrong". Despite the disagreement, Terence showed goodwill.

He promised to send Ksh 20,000 to Shalkido upon his return to Kenya from Dubai, where he had gone for a short vacation at the time Shalkido was throwing insults at him.

Reconciliation Before Tragedy

Fortunately, the two men had managed to resolve their differences before Shalkido passed away. They spoke, and Shalkido apologised to Terence via Instagram DM.

Terence accepted the apology, stating they were moving forward.

“...tuliweza kusamehana tu kama mandugu...” (We were able to forgive each other just like brothers),” he said.

Terence was happy that they had managed to resolve the issue as brothers. He noted that Shalkido was taking a positive direction in life, focusing on his career.

The Reason for the Delay

During the interview with Ankali, Terence confirmed he had not sent the KSh 20,000. He explained that he needed to meet Shalkido in person first.

Terence clarified that he did not want to send the money simply via phone. His goal was to offer mentorship, which requires a face-to-face meeting.

“Sikuweza kufanikisha maanake singeweza kutuma hela hivo mimi nilitaka tukutane.” (I couldn't accomplish that because I couldn't just send the money like that. I wanted us to meet.)

He explained that mentorship does not happen over the phone. When assisting someone, it is best to meet them, sit down, and allow them to explain their side of things. This makes the process better.

Terence mentioned that scheduling the meeting was a challenge. He had recently returned from China and was still trying to organize his time.

A Regrettable Outcome

Terence expressed that he could not honestly claim he had planned extensive support for Shalkido. He said it would be dishonest and wrong to use the deceased to glorify oneself now.

The content creator reaffirmed that he was simply relieved they had reached the stage of forgiveness.

“...Mungu ndio huamua mipango...” he noted.
