National vs county government expenditure on health services/WILLIAM WANYOIKE


Kenya’s national government health expenditure is expected to reach Sh121.97 billion in the 2024/25 financial year, up from about Sh107.52 billion in 2023/24.

Counties’ spending on health in 2022/23 stood at Sh95.5 billion.

This is projected to increase to Sh124.3 billion in 2023/24.

While counties are increasing their health spending, the national government still contributes slightly more.
