Nairobi was buzzing with creativity this week as the East African Breweries Plc (EABL) headquarters played host to a dynamic Creative Summit.
The event, led by Johnnie Walker, brought together Kenya’s sharpest minds in music, fashion, art, and digital storytelling.
The vibrant gathering aimed to celebrate the country’s massive pool of talent. It also strongly reinforced Kenya’s crucial role in shaping Africa’s broader cultural and creative economy.

The Star-Studded Conversation
The summit wasn't just about mixing and mingling; it was about bold discussions and meaningful collaboration.
Two major panel sessions formed the heart of the event. The first, titled "Walking with Culture: When Music Unites a Continent," explored how music acts as a bridge across African borders.

They discussed how tunes are elevating African creativity onto the world stage.
Meanwhile, the second panel, "Strides in Progress: Content Meets Culture," looked at modern trends. This discussion focused on how fashion, art, and digital storytelling are creating cultural relevance and opening huge opportunities for local creators to thrive.

Nyashinski Shares the Mic
Adding serious star power to the day was none other than Johnnie Walker’s own Brand Ambassador, Nyashinski.
The renowned Kenyan artist offered attendees insights into his groundbreaking journey.
Nyashinski, widely considered one of Kenya’s most influential musicians, shared his unique perspective on creative experimentation.
"At Johnnie Walker, our excitement lies in continuing to champion talent and supporting their progress, because when this creativity thrives, Africa walks taller, in line with our brand ethos of Keep Walking,” said Alvin Mbugua, the General Manager, Spirits from EABL.

AfroExchange: The Next Big Step
Beyond the exciting panels, the summit served as a major launchpad for an upcoming continent-wide initiative: AfroExchange.
This pioneering platform is set to kick off in November. AfroExchange is specifically designed to unite African talent from across borders.
The goal is to encourage collaboration, experimentation, and co-creation, perfectly aligning with Johnnie Walker’s iconic ‘Keep Walking’ philosophy.
The platform is expected to provide an extensive showcase of creativity, highlighting Africa’s growing impact on the global cultural landscape. This upcoming event follows a successful earlier edition, which was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in June of this year.
