Mwakideu set the stage for a candid moment, highlighting that many look up to Burale for wisdom, especially concerning relationships and marriage.

He directly asked Burale: "My sister Rozina Mwakideu, why did you divorce her?”

Burale confirmed that Rozinah is a very respectable woman and a great woman of God. He stressed that he maintains "absolute respect for her".

Dispelling Divorce Rumours

Mwakideu pushed Burale to provide a definitive reason for the failure, noting that infidelity and violence are often cited in divorces.

Burale was quick to clarify the nature of their split, stating clearly that there was no violence in the marriage. He also confirmed that there was no infidelity.

“So, what happened to you? You know what I mean, Robert? But what happened here? Yours, there was no violence, there was no cheating, so, what is this other reason that you want to give the world?” Mwakideu pressed further.

The preacher explained that sometimes "Two good people just didn't work out."

“There was no violence in my marriage. There was no infidelity in my marriage, but I think it is just that sometimes two good people just didn’t work out,” Burale said.

The Journey of Self-Discovery

While absolving his ex-wife of blame, Burale took responsibility for his own role in the divorce. He admitted to making mistakes as a husband.

He reflected that one of the greatest mistakes they made was allowing "too many people to speak into our marriage." He warned that some who call themselves friends may not truly want a couple to stay together.

Burale also felt he "did not rise up to where I should have been as a man" and should have been "more mature... spiritually".

He called the marriage a personal "failure" but emphasised that this failure now gives him "a message that gives other people victory."

The divorce, which occurred since 2013, meaning a period of 12 years has passed, led him on a journey of self-discovery.

“I failed in that area. But I have a message that gives other people victory,” he said.
