Frustrated Victoria Kimani Calls Out Fans Over Instagram Engagement

Kenyan musician Victoria Kimani has taken to social media to voice her frustration, expressing devastation after thousands of her Instagram followers viewed her stories without leaving any reactions.

In a series of posts, the singer questioned why her fans were treating her like a side piece.

“I have a question for my 25k+ Insta story viewers: why are you treating me like a side piece?” she asked.

She asked her followers to show love and support on her posts, noting that it is not easy to serve her fans for so many years.

A Plea for Public Engagement

With over 25,000 viewers on her Instagram stories, Kimani highlighted the disparity between her high story views and the low engagement on her main feed posts.

She stated that "watching and not interacting is WEIRDDDDDDDDDD" and encouraged her followers to leave a comment on her posts and show some love while she’s giving them all premium vibes.

Following her initial post, many fans began responding to her story directly through direct messages (DMs).

However, this was not the kind of interaction Kimani was hoping for. She clarified that she meant for fans to engage publicly on her main timeline, not privately in her DMs.

"I did not say DM interactions, my dear..." she wrote. "I mean show your love & appreciation publicly! Not privately... on my timeline posts, leave comments -likes-shares - real community boo."

She described the DM responses as fans trying to "shoot your shot" and insisted that she is not their "lil secret".

The Challenge of Fan Connection

Some of the direct messages she received offered insight into why fans might not be engaging more publicly. One user responded to her story, stating, "I don't know how, but you kinda have a scary energy".

In response, Kimani stated that she has been accused of being "too nice" and is trying to change and "be a mean girl".

For years, Victoria Kimani has been a dominant force in the music industry. The Grammy Recording Academy once hailed her as "Kenya's Best Kept Secret" for her signature blend of Afropop and R&B.
