Elizabeth Kalondu Musyimi, popularly known as Kalondu Musyimi, is one of Kenya’s rising stars in entertainment and digital media.

Recently nominated for Media and Blogger Influencer of the Year, she has steadily carved out a career that blends radio, television, and digital content.

From Intern to Media Mogul

Kalondu’s journey into media began humbly with a photography job in Nairobi’s CBD before moving into radio. Her first big break came at Radio Africa Group (RAG), where she successfully secured her first presenting deal.

“It was a six-to-six, Sunday-to-Sunday job. I had no time for myself or family. Leaving without a plan was tough, but that’s when Radio Africa called. Grace Kerongo, my former boss, introduced me to her network  and set me up for growth. I still credit some of my works to her”

A Versatile Presenter and Authentic Personality

Kalondu has showcased her versatility across TV, with stints on NTV’s Teen Republic, TV47’s Beats Plug, and KBC Y254’s Mashariki Show.

She has also built a reputation as a red carpet host and for her engaging quickfire celebrity interviews. Her approach makes stars more relatable to their fans.

Grounded in her Christian and Catholic faith, Kalondu embraces her Kangemi upbringing with pride.

She prefers natural beauty—short hair, short, nicely polished nails—and describes herself as hardworking.

Her late mother’s passing remains her toughest life challenge, and among her biggest inspirations is South African media personality Bonang Matheba, whose advice she lives by: “Success is your own responsibility, not your mother’s or father’s.”

The Dream Ahead

Kalondu envisions herself as East Africa’s most sought-after digital entertainment presenter, using digital platforms to redefine entertainment.

“I wish I had realized earlier that I am my own media house. If I had started monetizing my skills earlier, I’d be much further,” she reflects.

With her nomination, Kalondu Musyimi’s journey is only beginning.
