Moses Mudavadi, the elder son of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, has formally tied the knot.
He wed his partner, Qillian Saiya, over the weekend in a vibrant traditional wedding ceremony.
The event brought together two prominent families in a display of culture and elegance.

A Union of Prominent Families
Moses Mudavadi is the son of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Tessie Mudavadi. His bride, Qillian Saiya, is the daughter of former GSU Commandant William Saiya.
Qillian’s mother is also Hon. Naomi Masitsa Shiyonga, a former nominated senator for Kakamega.
Images from the event show both Musalia Mudavadi and William Saiya, the father of the bride, looking on with pride as their children led the procession.

A Dazzling Traditional Ceremony
The theme of the day was a celebration of African heritage, reflected in the stunning and intricate attire worn by the wedding party and guests.
The bride, Qillian, was a vision in a bespoke, mermaid-style dress. The gown featured a vibrant colour palette of deep blue and red, adorned with shimmering beaded patterns that created a scaled effect.

The sheer illusion neckline and sleeves were delicately embellished, adding to the elegance of her look.

Her mother, alongside other female guests, wore equally elaborate outfits in bold colours. The Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, and his wife, Tessie, were also dressed to impress.
The Prime CS was seen in a striking blue and green patterned shirt paired with dark trousers, and he completed his look with a classic fedora and a walking stick.

Moses Mudavadi made a striking appearance in a dark blue suit with immaculate patterns.
He sported a neat short haircut and a tidy, full beard, exuding regal charm. His groomsmen complemented him, wearing suits of a lighter blue shade.
The Exquisite Event
The traditional wedding took place at the bride's family home in Malava, Kakamega. The event was defined by its elegance and opulence.

Ambient lighting and elegantly arranged tables completed the beautiful setting in a spacious, beautifully decorated outdoor setting, with tents and an array of fresh flowers in shades of yellow and orange.
A New Chapter
The wedding marks a new chapter for both Moses and Qillian, and for the influential families they represent.

While the details of the ceremony were kept largely private, the images shared online captured the essence of the event: a heartfelt and joyful celebration that honoured tradition while embracing modern style.
A highlight of the day was when the newlyweds took to the stage. They danced vigorously to traditional music, shaking their shoulders with energy.
Their bridal team joined in, matching their moves with equal enthusiasm. Family, friends, and dignitaries showered the couple with gifts, celebrating their union.

A Look Back at Family Celebrations
This celebration follows another significant family event for the Mudavadis. In 2023, Musalia Mudavadi’s daughter, Maryanne, also exchanged vows with her partner.
That occasion featured Maryanne in a sparkling white gown and delicate veil. The previous event was brought to life with an opulent yellow and white theme.
