Diana Bahati, also known as Diana B, has released her new track, "Bibi ya Tajiri," which appears to be stirring considerable conversation within the Kenyan music scene and beyond.
The song's lyrical content boldly asserts her financial dominance and influence, leading to speculation about potential challenges to established artists.

A Bold Statement of Wealth and Power
From the very outset of "Bibi ya Tajiri," Diana B establishes a powerful persona, asserting her financial might. She repeatedly declares, "mi ndio bibi ya tajiri ama mi ndio tajiri" (I am the rich man's wife, or I am the rich one myself)”.
Her lyrics boast about her undeniable prosperity: "hii pesa haina siri mikono juu mnakiri" (this money has no secret, hands up, if you confess).

She further reinforces her authority with lines such as "mi ndio dawa shake well before use mi ndio nafanya mnapay dues, mi ndio nafanya mnaficha your boos."

The phrase "account ni madolars" (the account is in dollars) also highlights her substantial financial standing.
The "Beef" Speculation and Visual Cues
The song's release has been accompanied by considerable buzz, particularly concerning visual elements within the music video.
From the video, Diana B is seen tearing apart a photograph featuring renowned Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones and Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz while asserting that she is the best rapper right now.
“Mimi ndio best rapper right now, mi ndio queen mpaka kwa maskani zao, mi ndio mkubwa na wanao. Wachana na simba mimi ndio mama lao,” she sings while tearing apart Diamond’s photo.
Diana B also didn’t go easy on Kenyan artists, particularly rappers.
In some of her lyrics, she accompanied with visuals of their faces while throwing jabs at them.

The notable Kenyan rappers seen in her video song include Khaligraph Jones, Octopizzo, King Kaka, Nyashinski, Wakadinali, and Juacali.
“Ma rapper karanga nawachambua, wote ma rapper kujipanga nawapangua. Ma rapper msosi nawapakua, wote ma rapper wepesi nawanyanyua,” she raps.
A Nod to a Legend
Despite the perceived challenges to contemporary artists, "Bibi ya Tajiri" also pays homage to a late Kenyan music icon.
The track prominently samples the late E-Sir's classic song, "Si Usare".

In a significant gesture at the end of her video, Diana B is seen embracing the legacy of E-Sir, contrasting her assertive posture towards living artistes with a respectful nod to a legend who paved the way.
Diana Marua is seen wearing a t-shirt with E-sir’s face on the front, ending the video with his poster, captioned, “In loving memory of E-sir”.
