American rapper Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is making headlines globally after videos emerged showing her throwing a pen at a reporter outside a Los Angeles courthouse.
The incident occurred moments after a jury cleared her of assault charges in a $24 million civil lawsuit.

A Disrespectful Question
The fiery exchange began when a male reporter from an unnamed publication asked a question about Cardi B's personal life.
He inquired if "insiders are claiming Offset is publicly bragging about getting you pregnant for the 4th time"16. He then pressed further, asking, "Do you foresee any paternity issues with Steffon Diggs?" the man asked.

Cardi B reacted sharply, grabbing a pen from a fan and throwing it at the reporter.
She firmly stated, “Stop disrespecting me. Don’t disrespect me”.

She then challenged him directly, asking, “Do you see women asking those types of questions to me? Why do you feel, as a man, that you get to ask me those kinds of questions? Act like you have some manners. And your mama taught you to respect women”.
"I still love you even though you just threw some stuff at me," the man shouted.

Cleared of Assault Charges
The dramatic confrontation followed Cardi B's victory in a civil lawsuit filed by Emani Ellis, a security guard.
Ellis had accused the rapper of attacking her with a three-inch fingernail and spitting on her outside an obstetrician’s office in 2018.
At the time, Cardi B was four months pregnant with her first child, a fact she had kept private, leading the medical office to close for the day to protect her.
During the trial, Cardi B denied ever touching Ellis. She testified that Ellis had followed her, filmed her on her phone, and refused to give her personal space.
While admitting to a heated verbal argument and profane language, she maintained that the encounter never became physical.

Following the verdict, Cardi B issued a clear warning. “I work all day, and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of. So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle,” she declared to reporters.
She also urged her fans to respect Ellis’s privacy now that the case was concluded.
Despite the legal victory, the pen-throwing incident drew mixed reactions, with some praising her stance and others expressing concern over the physical gesture so soon after being cleared of assault allegations.
