Price Hike Sparks Debate

The increase of KSh 50 was the primary subject of discussion. While some fans questioned the justification for the hike, others felt it was still too low.

One social media user, Msema Kweli, asked, "What's the reason for the hike though".

In contrast, another user, Camundi, argued that ticket prices should be KSh 500 and above, as it is "the best way to generate revenue for the sporting industry without taxing us to death".

Another fan, Su, reacted to the increase with a simple comment: "So the 50 is a hike". This comment encapsulates the general sentiment of a segment of fans who feel the increase, though small, is an unnecessary burden.

Capacity Concerns and Public Speculation

Beyond the price, fans also raised concerns about the stadium's capacity. The match is reportedly subject to a 27,000-person limit. One fan, Abdullah Odero Ole Wagichu, urged CAF to "do away with the 27K limit," arguing that a "full house" is needed for a quarter-final match.

Another user, Yellow kid, speculated on the motives behind the limit, suggesting that organizers might be "trying to get the money they lost by reducing the capacity".

The Human Element of the Kasarani Experience

The drama surrounding the ticket prices and capacity adds to the often-unpredictable nature of attending a major sporting event.

Ruth K, shared her mixed emotions after a previous match at Kasarani. While she was "overly excited" that Kenya won, she sadly lost her iPhone 14 while exiting the stadium.

She offered a reward of KSh 30,000 for the phone's return, stating that it contains her "unposted projects".
