President William Ruto’s team tasked with overseeing the implementation of the National Dialogue Committee report and 10-point agenda has rolled out a comprehensive roadmap of activities, setting the stage for a new phase of the broad based political truce.

In the roadmap, unveiled in Nairobi on Friday, the five-member team chaired former nominated Senator Agnes Zani announced back-to-back public engagements beginning October.

During the public forums, the implementation team will meet various stakeholders including women, youths, professional agencies, clergy, members of civil society, youth and women organisations, academia and people living with disabilities.

“We want to move very first that by October we shall begin our engagements,” Zani said.

Among its top priorities are a relook into the existing policies, legislative agenda and administrative measures necessary for the implementation of the Nadco report and the 10-point items.

The Zani-led committee also urged Kenyans to turn out in large numbers for upcoming public engagement forums.

She said the forums would provide citizens with a chance to shape the rollout of key proposals contained in the report as well as the memorandum of understanding signed between President Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Committee members stressed that the process would only succeed if Kenyans actively participate and give their views.

“The committee invites members of the public and various stakeholders in the various scheduled forume in the days ahead as shall be notified,” Zani said.

They assured the public that all voices—including those of ordinary wananchi—would be considered in shaping the final framework for implementation.

The committee is seen as a proof of Ruto’s commitment to honoring the accord and stabilising the political climate.

The team also settled on governance expert Javas Bigambo to deputise Zani.

“The committee has organised its operations and has elected Javas Bigambo as the vice chair and has formed five sub-committees through which the public and the various stakeholders will be engaged,” the committee said in a statement.

Other members of the committee are Fatuma Ibrahim, Gabriel Oguda and Kevin Kiarie.

The executive directors of both UDA and ODM who are heading its secretariat also support the team.
