Promote peace and unity of all Kenyans - Farouk to Gachagua ahead of return

President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet has called on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to embrace unity and promote the peaceful existence of all Kenyans upon his return to the country.

Speaking at a women’s conference for the AIC Church in Kapsaos, Turbo sub-county, Farouk noted that Kenya had remained peaceful during Gachagua’s time away and urged all leaders to prioritise national cohesion.

“As leaders, we have a duty to promote peace and development at all times. Kenyans want stability so they can focus on building their lives,” Farouk said.

Gachagua is set to return to the country after a visit to the United States.

While in Turbo, Farouk appealed for constructive engagement among political leaders, saying the public was keen on seeing progress rather than political wrangles.

“We should all work together and ensure that our politics strengthens the country instead of dividing it,” he added.

During the event, Farouk commended women for their role in community development, describing them as “steadfast believers” whose efforts contribute significantly to national growth.

He urged the women to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to access quality healthcare in all hospitals. He also noted that food production had improved under the government’s subsidised fertiliser programme and encouraged farmers to store their produce and seek good prices through the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).

“We want our farmers to benefit fully from their hard work. They should avoid selling their crops hastily, as the government is committed to securing fair markets,” Farouk said.

He further called for a joint effort to tackle the sale of illicit alcohol, warning that it was harming young people in the community.

On education, Farouk urged parents to ensure all children attend school so they can benefit from government programmes in the sector.

The event was attended by several MCAs and church leaders, who echoed calls for unity and responsible leadership as the country navigates its political and economic challenges.
