Popular YouTuber and philanthropist MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has publicly addressed claims that his recent 100-well project in Africa is failing.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), MrBeast expressed frustration with those spreading false information and provided a website link with video proof that all the wells are still functioning.
The philanthropic act, which brought clean drinking water to over 500,000 people, has been both praised and criticised.
"People desperate for ad revenue have falsely claimed that the 100 wells I built for people in need don't work anymore, WITH ZERO PROOF!," MrBeast wrote.

A Transparent Showcase of Impact
To combat the false claims, MrBeast provided a link to his Beast Philanthropy website. The page features a video and a detailed breakdown of each of the 100 wells, complete with locations and visual evidence of them being fully operational.

He even expressed concern that the site might crash due to the high volume of traffic from people seeking to verify his work.
The wells are spread across five African countries, with a significant concentration in East Africa. The breakdown of the projects is as follows:
- Kenya: 30 wells
- Uganda: 31 wells 27
- Zimbabwe: 22 wells
- Cameroon: 14 wells
- Somalia: 3 wells

According to him, the project has had a significant impact on the health and education of the communities it serves, providing a reliable source of clean water to schools, hospitals, and villages.
MrBeast’s Quiet Philanthropy in Kenya
While the 100-wells project was a high-profile venture, MrBeast has also engaged in other, less public, philanthropic efforts in Kenya.
In one instance, he and his team were involved in upscaling the infrastructure of a school in Narok County.
In April 2025, MrBeast initiated a project to improve the educational infrastructure of Oloirien Primary School by providing meals, desks, a new kitchen, a well, a greenhouse, a tractor, and a truck.
The project also included the purchase of land for the school and a feeding program to combat food insecurity.

His work in Kenya has been met with a mixed public response. While many Kenyans have praised the initiatives and thanked him for his generosity, some have also used the opportunity to criticise local politicians for failing to provide basic services.
The conversation around MrBeast’s philanthropy has, in many cases, turned into a broader discussion about governance and accountability in the region.
