Football fans have begun streaming into the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, ahead of Harambee Stars’ much-anticipated clash against DR Congo in their opening match of the CHAN 2024 tournament.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm, and the energy around the stadium is already electric as supporters don national colours, chant team slogans, and take their positions for the big game.

Final preparations were visible at the venue earlier in the day, with staff putting finishing touches in and around the stadium.

Video footage shared online captured the pre-match buzz and last-minute logistical arrangements.

Police have stepped up security in and around the area, including blocking part of the Thika Road service lane at Roysambu to ease traffic and secure the stadium's perimeter.

The Kenya Red Cross Society has deployed emergency response teams to both Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums.

The deployment includes first aid services, ambulances, crowd safety action teams, and tracing services to assist fans who may get separated from their groups.

Harambee Stars are making a strong return to the continental stage, and today's match marks a key moment in their CHAN 2024 campaign. Anticipation is high as fans hope for a strong start against a tough DR Congo side.
