The organisation leverages technology, efficient supply chains, and sustainable sourcing to deliver low-cost, high-quality meals to primary school children across Kenya.

The African-led and women-led social enterprise aims to serve one million learners daily by 2027.

Since 2012, Food4Education has provided over 100 million meals, underpinning its mission to enhance nutrition and educational outcomes nationwide.

The successful candidate will spearhead Food4Education's communications strategy, championing the organisation's reputation as a trusted partner in delivering innovative and sustainable school feeding solutions both within Africa and internationally.

Reporting directly to the chief executive and collaborating closely with the senior management team, the Head of Communications will lead a team responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, branding, and crisis management.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic communications plans aligned with organisational goals, managing agency partnerships, and measuring campaign effectiveness.

The role demands oversight of engaging content creation across multiple channels, including social media, websites, newsletters, and press releases, as well as maintaining strong media relationships locally and globally.

The postholder will also lead brand management efforts, develop consumer advocacy campaigns, and support the production of flagship publications such as the Annual Report.

Internal communication is another critical facet of the role.

The Head of Communications will foster a cohesive organisational culture by ensuring clear, consistent messaging that reflects Food4Education's values and vision.

Leadership skills are essential, as the role requires mentoring communication professionals and positioning the communications function as a strategic pillar across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in public relations and corporate communications, preferably within multinational environments.

Proven strategic leadership, project management abilities, and expertise in crisis communications are essential.

The role also demands exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging diverse audiences through various media.

A deep understanding of Kenya's local context combined with pan-African insights is required, alongside the flexibility to travel internationally when necessary.
