Bold Coastal Musician Offer to Marry Azeezah Hashim, Dedicates Her a Song

An intriguing development has emerged in the entertainment scene, as Mbeki Mswahili, an upcoming coastal-based musician, has publicly proposed marriage to Citizen TV’s 10 Over 10 host, Azeezah Hashim.

The proposal comes several months after the popular TV personality was reportedly quoted lamenting about the challenges of finding a suitable partner for marriage.

The Public Proposal

Mbeki Mswahili, whose real name is Mbeki Owino, took to social media to convey his intentions. He released a short video clip containing a direct message to Azeezah Hashim.

“I have been drowning kwa muda mfupi, moyo wangu kauchukua, the way she makes me feel, ni Mungu ndiye anajua. Kwa jina anaitwa Azeezah, kumueleza simalizi. She makes me fall, losing control…ananichanganya kichizi, kila post Instagram yuko busy, namvisha pete,” the musician explicitly stated his desire to marry her in a poetic version.

Before releasing the song, Mbeki had done a video that widely circulated of him purportedly expressing his desire to be an ideal man for the ‘Media Messiah’ as she calls herself.

In his heartfelt message, Mswahili directly addressed Hashim's widely publicized expressions of frustration regarding marriage.

“Greetings, my name is Mbeki Mswahili, and today I have a very short video targeting the young woman Azeezah Hashim... I want to marry you,” he boldly stated.

Mswahili articulated a sense of responsibility and concern from an Islamic perspective, stating that "si vizuri kwa dini ya kiislamu mtoto wa kike kwa mitandao kulalamika kwamba mbona hamnioi, ni vibaya sana ni si poa kabisa"(it is not good in the Islamic religion for a woman to complain on social media, saying why aren't you marrying me, it is very bad, it's not good at all).    

An Offer to 'Shelter'

The coastal musician expressed his motive as a desire to shelter Azeezah Hashim. He explained that his camp has taken it upon itself to offer this shelter to the young woman so she can secure a marriage.

"The Mswahili camp has offered to shelter the young woman so that she may also get married. As for other social media matters, like posting and advertising, what about them? Ah, I am okay with them; she doesn't have to stop anything. No, no, I am okay with them."

Mswahili's Acceptance of Her Public Persona

Despite his traditional concerns about publicly lamenting, Mbeki Mswahili made it clear that he is fully accepting of Azeezah’s active presence on social media.

He explicitly stated that her online activities, including posting and advertising, are not an issue for him and that she would not need to change her professional life should she accept his proposal.

Mswahili concluded his public address with a direct plea to Azeezah:

He stated, "Wherever you are, my dear, I want to reach you, I want to marry you, my friend. Other things, we will talk about well."

As of now, Azeezah Hashim has not yet publicly responded to Mbeki Mswahili's unexpected marriage proposal, leaving the public eagerly awaiting her reaction to this bold declaration of love and intent.
