TikToker and photographer Faustine Lipuku Lukale, widely known as Baba Talisha, recently shared his harrowing experience of being accused of sacrificing his late wife.
Speaking to Betty Kyallo on TV47 Kenya on Friday night, he opened up about the profound grief and public scrutiny he faced following a devastating road accident.

The Unthinkable Tragedy
On September 11, 2020, Baba Talisha and his family were involved in a horrific road accident. The incident claimed the life of his wife, Talisha’s mother. His daughter, who was just two years old at the time, sustained severe injuries.

She suffered a fractured skull, brain swelling, and serious head injuries, leading to a 20-day hospital stay. Before the accident, Talisha was described as a normal child.

Navigating Grief and Slander
Beyond the personal tragedy, Baba Talisha endured shocking accusations from the public. He recalled painful comments where people claimed he had sacrificed his wife, who perished in the accident.
"A lot of things were said before you know, which broke me. Oh, you sacrificed your wife, and you know, things were told, but you know, for human beings, until it happens to them, it becomes a different type of story,” he recalled.
This period was marked by immense grief; he admitted to crying constantly and feeling "everything is falling apart".
He recounted how his parents had to call him to encourage him after he didn't leave the house for two days following the initial shock. He also touched upon the societal issue of men struggling to express emotions, noting, "Men don't usually talk, and when they talk it's like you're seeking sympathy."
Finding Strength and Purpose
Despite the immense pain, Baba Talisha leaned on his faith and a strong support system. He credits prayer and belief in God for helping him through.
Support came not only from family but also from strangers and overseas followers. He transformed his personal ordeal into a platform for advocacy, using his YouTube channel to motivate others and champion the cause of children with special needs.

"I want to champion for her and any other kid out here. The same condition. So you should stand up for these kids..."
He urges parents to accept their children's conditions, seek professional help, and "be the champion" for their kids. He firmly believes that children with special needs are "very special" and a "gift from God."
Moving Forward with Hope
Baba Talisha currently has a partner whom he describes as a "good mom" to Talisha, and she now has a brother. He acknowledges that finding the right person to accept and care for his child was "tricky".
He continues to use his social media presence to spread awareness and positivity. He stressed that grief has no timeline and that acceptance involves learning to live with the pain.
"Give time some time because things will get better. You'll meet new people who will count on you on a journey and always believe in God."
