Former Cabinet Secretary and Presidential Advisor Moses Kuria has publicly expressed his strong disapproval of remarks made by Kikuyu Member of Parliament and National Assembly Majority Leader, Kimani Ichung'wah, regarding the marriage of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Kuria's intervention highlights a growing concern within the political sphere about the politicization of family matters, urging that such personal aspects be kept separate from political discourse.

Kuria's statement, delivered via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, directly addressed Ichung'wah's controversial comments, which were reportedly made on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
During a public rally, Ichung'wah allegedly implicated Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, Gachagua's wife. Furthermore, Ichung'wah reportedly questioned Gachagua's leadership by stating,"Huyu amekaliwa na bibi. Mwanaume amekaliwa na bibi ataambia nini wanaume wenzake?"(This one is controlled by his wife. What will a man controlled by his wife tell his fellow men?), implying that Gachagua was a "weak man controlled by his wife".
Moses Kuria explicitly termed Ichung'wah's comments as"grossly out of order for dragging Pastor Dorcas Rigathi into the mud only because of her husband".
Kuria's strong reaction underscores a perceived breach of political etiquette, particularly concerning the involvement of spouses in political rivalries. He stressed the importance of protecting families from political mudslinging, advocating for adherence to a "version of the Geneva Convention" in political engagements.

“Hon Kimani Ichumg’wah is grossly out of order for dragging Pastor Dorcas Rigathi into the mud only because of her husband. Since the next phase of this war will be vicious and bloody, let us have our version of the Geneva Convention. KEEP FAMILIES OUT OF POLITICS !”Kuria stated.
This is not the first instance where Moses Kuria has publicly criticized actions he deems inappropriate within political circles, particularly when they involve family members.
He recalled a past incident where he criticized Rigathi Gachagua himself on national television for "pettiness". This earlier criticism stemmed from Gachagua's alleged statement that President Ruto had asked him not to bring his spouse to the National Prayer Breakfast because Mama Rachael Ruto was not present.

Rigathi Gachagua, as the former Deputy President, holds a significant position within the political discourse, and public comments directed at him, especially those touching on his personal life, often draw considerable attention.
The ongoing political jostling, particularly among leaders from the Kikuyu community, contributes to such public spats.
