Prominent Kenyan lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has publicly declared his willingness to personally contribute towards the transfer fee for Sporting CP's striker Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) page on July 19, 2025, Abdullahi expressed frustration that a sum of £2.5 million (approximately KSh 435 million, based on recent exchange rates) was reportedly holding up the high-profile transfer.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi, a Senior Counsel in Kenya, is well-known for his strong legal opinions and his passionate support for Arsenal Football Club. His recent social media statement, posted late on Friday evening, directly addressed both Arsenal Football Club and its manager, Mikel Arteta.

"£2.5 m is holding the transfer of Victor Gyokeres to Arsenal. SAD!" Abdullahi wrote. He further added, "I want publicly inform both @Arsenal and @m8arteta that I'm willing to pay the same so that the player can join the team in their pre-season tour in Singapore! @WehliyeMohamed".
The potential transfer of Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal has been a subject of extensive speculation in recent weeks, dominating headlines in sports media.
Gyokeres, a Swedish international forward, has been a standout performer for Portuguese club Sporting CP, consistently demonstrating a strong goal-scoring record. Reports from various sports outlets have indicated Arsenal's keen interest in securing the striker's services to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season.

However, negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting CP have reportedly encountered hurdles, primarily over the transfer fee. While Sporting CP has been firm on its valuation, various reports have suggested a total transfer fee in the range of £75 million to £85 million (approximately KSh 12.4 billion to KSh 14.1 billion), with the £2.5 million reportedly representing a final sticking point or an additional sum to facilitate the deal swiftly.
Abdullahi's offer aims to resolve this financial impasse, with the specific goal of enabling Gyokeres to join the Arsenal squad in time for their pre-season preparations, which include a tour in Singapore.
Pre-season tours are crucial for new signings to integrate with the team, understand tactics, and build chemistry with teammates ahead of the competitive season.
