Former Chief Justice David Maraga has formally intensified his political aspirations for the 2027 presidential elections, marking a significant step with the launch of his campaign website.
This move comes amidst an ongoing public discourse surrounding his potential bid for the country's highest office, which he has gradually clarified over recent months.
Maraga's campaign is anchored on a message of national renewal, particularly addressing economic challenges and governance issues facing Kenya.
Maraga's journey towards a presidential run was born after the initiation of town hall meetings, signaling a more direct engagement with the electorate, where he began promoting his "#ResetRebuildRestore" Kenya agenda.
The launch of his campaign website, davidmaraga.com/donate, comes a few days after he declared that he doesn’t have much in terms of money to pump into his presidential campaign.

“Whether you volunteer your time, contribute your ideas, or donate, you are helping us shape the Kenya of our most courageous dreams. Kenya is not just a nation-it is US. It is the laughter of our children, the resilience of our communities, the dreams we carry in our hearts,” Maraga requested.
However, the launch of a donation website has drawn mixed reactions on his X post.
@Thxplainer: Are you here to con NAIVE Kenyans who can't see through your trickeries? Because you are never a politician and can't manage anything politics.
@Sircedric001: There is more to winning this than just being a good man that you are. So, double the efforts. Good luck ?
@dicksonochora: Pin it Mr President.
@mungai97048727: Personally I'm not against anyone,but from my perspective, what makes us sure that we are not recycling the same leaders we once had and placing them in the leadership roles with a prospect of change,how can we be sure that @dkmaraga will deliver?
@library_mindset: ?just let them tell you the big truth.
@fred_kubende: You were at one time in the centre of power, nothing transformative was achieved. What legacy did you leave behind? You won't change anything, Maraga!!

During an explosive interview on Citizen TV a few days ago, Maraga explained that although his actual campaign budget was yet to be determined, the plan was to have Kenyans donate to it, making it an administration brought to power by ordinary citizens.
He clarified that he would be putting in what he described as a relatively small amount of money, between Ksh1 million and Ksh2 million, into the campaign, and the rest will be from well-wishers and those pleased by his agenda.
Maraga is among several presidential aspirants who have expressed interest in vying for the presidency to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 General Elections.
