Silas Jakakimba Announces Mutual Separation From Wife

Silas Jakakimba, a prominent Kenyan lawyer and long-time aide to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has publicly announced his separation from his wife, Florence Adhiambo.

The statement, released via his X (formerly Twitter) page, indicated that the decision to separate was reached mutually and with respect.

Jakakimba's announcement detailed that the separation came after careful consideration and much reflection and described it as a difficult but in certain and often times – extremely considerate one.

The statement also noted deep appreciation and gratitude for the immense love and support from both sides of their Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as they sought to make it public.

“This decision was reached mutually and, with respect for one another, noting with deep appreciation and gratitude, the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public,” the statement read in part.

The high-profile political operative, who has served Raila Odinga for nearly two decades, emphasized the couple's commitment to maintaining privacy and the well-being of their family during this transition.

The statement concluded by requesting privacy and confirming that no further public statements would be made regarding the matter.

“We ask that our privacy be respected as we navigate this personal matter. We will not be making any further public statements whatsoever regarding this matter at this or, at any other time - and we do appreciate your understanding.”

Silas Jakakimba is a well-known figure in Kenyan political and legal circles. His career has seen him as a close confidante and aide to Odinga, playing a significant role in various political endeavors.

Beyond his work with the former Prime Minister, Jakakimba is a lawyer by profession.

In recent years, he has also been involved in governmental appointments, including a position on the Board of Directors of the South Nyanza Sugar Company, and briefly served as a legal advisor for Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga.
