Popular Kenyan TikTok personality and entrepreneur, Mummie Francie, has revealed a rare glimpse into her personal life, sharing intimate details about her relationship with her husband during a candid interview with Dr. Ofweneke on TV47 Kenya.
The discussion illuminated the personal journey of her unique meeting with her husband, the person who made the first move, and their enduring partnership that has weathered various challenges.
During an unconventional meeting in 2015, Francie revealed that her initial encounter with him occurred in 2015 through a WhatsApp group.
“I met him in July 2015. We met in a WhatsApp group. It was a fan group of youngsters,” she said.
The connection was facilitated by a mutual acquaintance, a close friend from Francie's high school days, who added both of them to the group.
In a surprising revelation, Francie openly admitted to being the one who initiated contact with her future husband. She described herself as way too forward and straightforward.
Her opening line was a simple yet direct "Hi”.
“I shot my shot at first, the first statement was just 'Hi.' A simple hi, and I did it outside the group in his inbox. I'm just way too forward. I'm straightforward,” she added.
Despite her forwardness, the future husband did not immediately respond. Francie patiently texted him for "two months, 3 months" before he finally replied with, "Hey, how are you? How you doing? Hi".
Francie clarified the duration of her relationship with ‘Mubaba’ – as he fondly calls him. When asked about "10 years," she specified that this period marked the time since her first pregnancy in 2015, which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage by November of that year.
Francie's path to her current stability is rooted in a challenging upbringing. She shared that she came from a "broken family" and experienced a tough childhood.
This led her to make a covenant with God, aspiring to be in a "stable in a good marriage with a responsible man" by the time she turned 30, a milestone she recently achieved.
Mummie Francie's public persona as a bold entrepreneur is largely due to her willingness to openly discuss her skin bleaching business on TikTok, a platform where she was among the first to introduce business content and live streams in 2021.
Before her social media fame, Francie revealed that she was a dancer, engaging in twerking and road shows after leaving her father's house at 17 in 2012. She described this period as having a "bar was too low," even dating a conductor and a driver.
