Prominent Kenyan actresses Sandra Dacha and Jacquey Wilbroda Nyaminde have publicly urged President William Samuel Ruto to "Sikiliza ground" – a plea for him to listen attentively to the people – amidst escalating public discontent and repeated countrywide protests.

Speaking at the event of musician Costa Ojwang, the media personalities conveyed a strong message to the nation's leadership, emphasizing the urgent need for justice and economic relief.

The current national mood in Kenya is characterized by widespread unhappiness, with visible sentiments from leaders and ongoing 'maandamano' (protests). It is within this charged atmosphere that the renowned figures chose to voice their concerns.

During an interview with SPM Buzz, Wilbroda indicated her strong stance was encapsulated by her t-shirt, which she declared "says it all". Dacha also articulated a solemn warning to politicians.

"God is watching you politicians because God is watching the cries of the parents who have lost their loved ones. The cries of the people who are in hospitals, in cells for simply going out of the streets and fighting for their rights will not go in vain," she asserted.

She further advised, "Just do what is right because karma is coming.”

Joining her in the call for presidential introspection was Wilbroda delivered a direct appeal to President Ruto, imploring him to "listen to the people".

Wilbroda highlighted the significant timeframe President Ruto still has in office, expressing a fervent wish that he would utilize this period to listen to the people and reverse a lot of things that have happened in this country.

“Ningependa sana asikilize the ground. I would love for him to listen to the people. This guy still has two and a half years. About two and a half, I wish he would listen to the people and reverse a lot of things that have happened in this country.A lot of the injustices, andthe economic situation as it is right now. So many people going through so much,” she wished.
