Lydia KM: Life Lessons & Earning First Million After 30 During COVID

In a candid quickfire Q&A session with Kalondu Musyimi from Mpasho, held during the launch of Dairyland’s new drinking chocolate late last month, Lydia KM offered insights into her personal and professional journey, including key financial milestones and life lessons.

Lydia KM, who is widely recognized as a prominent figure in the digital space, identifying as a Mental Health, Wellness, Lifestyle, Travel influencer, was crowned Instagram Influencer of the Year 2024. She is also the Founder of @kagiewellness and an Award-winning Podcaster for @tmipodcastke.

During the interview, Lydia KM, whose real name is Lydia Carleen Mukami and who is 34 years old, reflected on her financial accomplishments.

When questioned about when she made her first million, she initially stated she was 29. However, she later corrected this, clarifying that it was when she was 31 years old, noting it was around the year after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I was 29...Um you asked me when I made my first million. It was when I was 31. There's a couple of years there that I don't always remember the date but I remember the year was it was like the year after COVID and I think I was 31,” she clarified.

Beyond financial achievements, Lydia KM shared a significant life lesson she wished she had learned earlier: "Just to not sweat the small stuff". This reflection provides a glimpse into her personal growth and outlook.

The conversation also delved into her personal connections and habits. Lydia KM confirmed that her best friend is Murugi Munyi.
