A decade after a social media user publicly shamed her for listing the qualities of her ideal man, celebrated Kenyan actress Sandra Dacha is seemingly revisiting the incident, shedding light on the persistent scrutiny women in the limelight face regarding their romantic preferences and body image.

The resurfaced comment from 2015, originally posted on a K24 TV segment featuring Dacha, highlights an uncomfortable reality for many public figures.

The original K24 TV snippet, appearing to be from 2015, showed Sandra Dacha outlining her non-negotiables for a partner.

She stated her desire for a man: “whose relationship with money is fit", "who focuses on me", and"who is not the jealous type."

Beneath this, a scathing comment from a user identified as "Xsuvu Daniel" read: "At your age, size, and still demanding qualities? My sister, tell your father akuonyeshepenyeutajenga."

This remark, roughly translating to "At your age, size, and still demanding qualities? My sister, tell your father to show you where you'll build/settle," was a direct attack on Dacha’s appearance and perceived audacity in having standards.

The comment not only dismissed her preferences but also invoked traditional notions of a woman’s place and worth.

Revisiting the incident, Dacha via her Facebook post affirmed that the social media user’s comment did hit her, but still remains adamant that she doesn’t see anything wrong about listing her preferences in the ideal man to marry.

“The year was 2015. I did this interview with K24 10 years ago…huyu mtu hakuniambia poa. What was my mistake?!” Dacha questioned.

Over the years, the actress, often referred to as 'Biggest Machine' – a nickname she proudly adopted to embrace her curvaceous physique and robust personality – has been vocal about what she seeks in a partner.

She has openly stated that she cannot date a broke man, declaring, "My money is mine. His money is ours. I have struggled in life so I cannot struggle again with a man."

This pragmatic approach to finances in a relationship is a recurring theme in her discussions about love.

Furthermore, Dacha has shared specific physical preferences, revealing that she prefers tall, slim, and not-so-handsome men, explicitly stating she would never date a plus-size guy.

These preferences, much like her stance on financial stability, have occasionally drawn criticism, with some perceiving them as contradictory given her body positivity advocacy.

However, Dacha has maintained that her personal choices for a partner do not negate her message of self-love for all body types.
