As the world marks Men’s Mental Health Month this June, Kenyans are being called to do more than just start conversations—they’re being invited to move, connect, and heal together at the Classic Fit event, happening on 28th June at The Waterfront, Karen.

On the surface, Classic Fit may look like just another fun fitness event. But beneath the high-energy Zumba, sack races, and smoothie stands is a deeper message: our men are struggling, and it’s time we did something about it.

A Safe Space for Men to Just Be

For far too long, mental health—especially among men—has been dismissed, stigmatised, or buried beneath harmful ideas about masculinity.

In Kenya, suicide remains a leading cause of death among men under 35. Many suffer in silence, disconnected from their emotions, their families, and even their bodies.

Classic Fit offers an antidote to that silence: a day where movement meets meaning.

The event’s core goal is to create a safe, inclusive space where men can reconnect with their bodies, relieve stress, and build community—through physical activity, laughter, and shared purpose.

And crucially, it invites women and families too. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in community.

Fitness With Purpose

The day’s programme is carefully designed to be both fun and impactful. Expect energetic Zumba sessions that help participants release stress, sack races that bring out the childlike joy in everyone, and competitive lifting challenges aimed at drawing more male participants.

There's also a dedicated kids’ zone, fresh smoothies and fruit stands, thrifted gym sets for sale, and a vibrant wellness marketplace. Whether you’re going for the burn, the bonding, or the balance—there’s something here for you.

LG’s Role: A Brand That’s Listening

Classic Fit 2025 is proudly sponsored by LG, whose involvement goes beyond logos and banners. The tech giant has stepped into the space as a corporate ally in the fight for wellness.

Their contribution supports the event's mission—not just through funding, but through thoughtful engagement.

LG will be giving away their popular Xboom portable speakers as part of the event’s celebration of men, music, and mental health.

With bold sound, deep bass and easy Bluetooth pairing, the Xboom is more than just a speaker—it’s a tool for self-care through sound. Because sometimes, healing starts with your favourite playlist and a deep breath.

More Than Just a Day Out

Classic Fit isn't promising to solve the mental health crisis in one afternoon. But it’s a start. It’s a space where men don’t have to talk if they don’t want to—but they can dance, lift, laugh, and maybe even find the courage to share.

By bringing together fitness, community, music and mental health, Classic Fit offers something rare: a hopeful, practical way to care for our minds through our bodies—and to do it together.
