“The computer laboratory at Ong’eche Secondary School is already making an impact. It has led to increased student enrolment and is opening doors to modern learning opportunities. For the first time, students at Ong’eche Secondary will sit for computer studies examinations in 2026, building skills that are vital in today’s digital economy. The inclusion of junior secondary students from neighbouring schools further extends the reach of this facility, demonstrating the power of shared resources,” he noted.

“The Rangala Boys Secondary School bus will ensure that students can participate fully in academic, sporting, and co-curricular activities. Reliable transportation is an essential part of enabling students to access holistic learning experiences that develop character and skills beyond the classroom."

On her part, KPC's Strategy and Compliance GM, Zilper Abong’o, noted that KPC Foundation’s impact in the Nyanza region goes well beyond these latest projects.

“In the recent past, KPC Foundation has invested a cumulative KES 46,700,000 in education infrastructure in this region”, she said.

“KPC Foundation’s education initiatives align with the national government’s goals to increase secondary school enrolment and improve quality school completion rates across Kenya. We believe that education is a powerful tool for change and these projects reflect our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of where they come from, has access to a conducive learning environment,” she added.

The three projects in Siaya and Kisumu Counties bring the total number of CSI projects by KPC Foundation in the Nyanza region to eight.

The Foundation has previously constructed a dormitory and laboratory at Simbi Secondary school at Sh8 million, an administration and ablution block in Kowuor Primary School at Sh5 million, a multi-purpose hall in St. Mary’s Secondary School at Sh5 million, two classrooms at Lambwe Special School at Sh3 million and a 100-capacity dormitory at Siburi Mixed Secondary School at Sh5 million.

Last week, KPC Foundation commissioned a 100-capacity dormitory at Cardinal Otunga Girls’ High School in Bungoma County at Sh5 million.

These development initiatives form part of KPC Foundation’s broader Corporate Social Investment strategy, anchored in the three core pillars of Education, Health, and Water and Sanitation, which collectively guide its mission to uplift communities by addressing critical social and developmental challenges in a sustainable and impactful manner.
