Controversial gospel musician, Ringtone Apoko has broken his silence following a case he faced in court two weeks ago over a land dispute worth 50 million.
Speaking to Trudy Kitui, Ringtone began by joking that a servant of God being arrested by the police is one of the many trials and tribulations that God’s men go through.
The artist claimed that he was not the first servant of God to face a case by the police, citing the example that even Jesus the son of God was also arrested.
“Jesus himself was arrested, Paul was also arrested, Daniel was also arrested…who hasn’t been arrested? As God’s men, we consider these as trials. Because even in those prisons are meant for human beings, although some have been wrongly imprisoned and others who have been imprisoned legitimately,” Ringtone said.

The artiste, however, said that he was not in a position to discuss issues that are currently in court.
Ringtone explained in a low voice that a woman had accused him of what he claimed she was deceived that the artist was stealing her land.
“I can only say it was a misunderstanding because it is said that there is a land belonging to a certain woman that I want, and that woman accused me. She was deceived by people that I wanted to steal her land, so she sued me in 2023 and was given a court order that was meant to restrain me from entering her land.”
However, Ringtone in his defense claimed that during that period, he told the woman in question that he did not need her land and said that the resurgence of the case gave him clear feelings that perhaps people were deceiving the woman again.
On May 19, 2025, after spending four days behind bars, Ringtone was released on a Ksh.3 million bond or an alternative of Ksh.1 million cash bail.

Ringtone was charged with conspiring to defraud a businesswoman of land worth Ksh.50 million in Karen, Nairobi.
However, while speaking with Kitui, Ringtone affirmed his trust in Kenya’s judicial system, alleging that the case is a clear name-smearing plan.
“I trust our judicial system and I believe that in Kenya, justice is done in court. I believe I will get justice and I am sure, my God will not let me down because in reality here I have been defamed for nothing.”
“But it’s God who gave me the name and even Jesus was defamed, so I am very positive because I have no need. My conscience is very clear; I do not need her land. Some people are deceiving her maybe they want to teach me a lesson or to fix me, I don’t know what my enemies are up to,” he insisted.
