Moji Shortbabaa Addresses Not Having a Child 4 Years After Getting Married

Award-winning Kenyan gospel minister, Moji Shortbabaa, has opened up about the reasons why he and his wife Nyawira Gachugi are childless, four years after their wedding.

Speaking on Radio 47 recently, Shortbabaa said that the pressure to have children comes only from outsiders, especially fans on social media, but those close to him do not pressure him at all about having a child in marriage.

“From my family, there is no pressure, our family is a little different. My grandmother doesn’t have pressure, the pressure is only out there from people who talk about their stuff. Out there, you know, people can give anyone as much pressure as they want,” Moji Shortbabaa explained.

On whether it is an issue that he and his wife have decided to postpone having a child or not, Shortbabaa said;

“We haven’t decided, but you know a child is a blessing from God. Whether you plan it or not, when their time comes, they’ll just come.”

Moji Shortbabaa explained that he doesn’t really like to interfere in the issue of children in people’s marriages since he was born when his mother was very young.

“I don’t like to talk about children, My mother had me when she was 17. I wish I could talk more, but people should just wait for the results,” Shortbabaa added.

Two weeks ago when they were commemorating 4 years in their marriage, Nyawira did a long post, recalling the events on their big day in May 2021.

“I remember the morning of our wedding, how eager and excited I was to be your forever wife. Being your friend was exciting, and now to be your forever wife! Wow. You have been everything I prayed for @mojishortbabaa. A true friend, a strength giver, and a weakness rebuker! I am blessed by and through you, sir. May God keep us! Truly, only she can! To a greater journey, my sweet!!,” she said.

Nyawira and Moji Shortbabaa tied the knot in May 2021 at Sovereign Suites in a private wedding attended by only their immediate family and close friends.

With a quote from Proverbs 18:22, Moji posted on his Instagram, “Been waiting to use this verse for a long time, ‘He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22’ Nyawira Gachugi, I am glad I found you! And I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us!❤️.”

Nyawira, on the other hand, noted the wedding date with the caption, “The girl became a Mrs. Forever begun.”

On her Insta-story, Nyawira captioned their wedding picture, “We see you all…yes…its official we are married. We are happy, we are grateful.”
