Comedian-turned-human rights activist Eric Omondi has become a beacon of hope for many struggling Kenyans through his philanthropic efforts under the Sisi Kwa Sisi foundation.
Launched two years ago, the initiative has seen Omondi extend financial support and create lasting impact in the lives of countless Kenyans, ranging from students to single mothers.
His latest mission has once again warmed hearts across the country.
Just a week after appealing to the public to help locate a grandmother who had gone viral for offering six chickens in place of school fees for her grandchildren, Omondi has now confirmed that he successfully found her.
In a heartwarming update, Omondi announced that his supporters helped raise KSh 800,000 for the family in Homa Bay. Of the total funds, KSh 600,000 will cater for the grandchildren’s education, while the remaining KSh 200,000 will be used to set up a small business for the grandmother to sustain her livelihood.
In a video shared online, Omondi was seen accompanying the elderly woman to a local KCB Bank branch to initiate the disbursement process.
But this is far from the first time Omondi has come to the rescue. Below are some of the most notable interventions made through the Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative:
January 2025: Standing with Kathambi

Omondi raised over KSh 826,000 to support Kathambi, a 34-year-old mother from Kisii, who was filmed being assaulted by neighbours after allegedly stealing a packet of flour.
Carrying her child during the assault, the video shocked the nation. Omondi helped raise funds to build her a house, especially given her hearing impairment.
October 2024: The Boy Who Prayed for School Fees

Omondi rallied support to raise over KSh 1 million for Lewis, a Form One student from Kimuri High School in Naivasha.
A video of the young boy praying before a portrait of Christ in a church, asking for help to clear a KSh 32,000 fee balance, touched many and sparked the fundraiser.
April 2024: Bonface Nyaboti's Redemption

Omondi came to the aid of Bonface Nyaboti, a single father from Embakasi who went viral after being assaulted over a KSh 100 debt.
Omondi provided him with a fully stocked shop and raised KSh 657,000 through his followers to help him regain financial independence.
October 2023: Empowering Quinter the Smokie Vendor

He raised KSh 556,000 for Quinter Adhiambo, a smokie and mayai vendor, whose stall was destroyed by city council askaris.
The viral footage moved Omondi to step in and fundraise to help transform her family’s circumstances.
October 2023: Helping Mama Mary

Another fundraiser saw Omondi raise KSh 817,000 for Mama Mary, a disabled single mother of six who had also been harassed by city council askaris. His intervention provided her family with renewed hope and financial support.
