A week after comedian and actor Dj Shiti posted a picture with Yesu wa Tongaren, he has now revealed what he advised him to do to make a living from the fame that comes with the name.

Yesu wa Tongaren is a man from Bungoma County who hit the headlines two years ago after he emerged and claimed to be Jesus, giving controversial teachings to the members of his church in Tongaren.

DJ Shiti revealed that they met during his recent visit to Western Kenya, and he used the opportunity to advise him on how to benefit from his fame.

“He is a good person, he welcomed us very well at his place, and one thing I advised him, that is one way that God gave him to make a living too. It could be good if he gets a package from it. I talked to him about that,” Shiti said.

Shiti also criticized people, especially bloggers and media in general, who seek to interview him with the intention of creating their content without giving him anything, insisting that God may have given him his fame so that he could benefit from it by earning a living.

“It’s really bad that people go there and interview him, create content with him, and don’t give him anything, you see. So I advised him sometimes people should give him even sugar and other products like such.

“All these ways are ways that God has given us to earn a living,” Shiti insisted.

Shiti, who recently starred as a pastor in a web series, explained that Yesu wa Tongaren deserves to be taught how to earn an income from content or the fame of his name, denying that it might be difficult to convert him from the church to content creation.

“Maybe he doesn’t know that people have judged him already, and he doesn’t want to be judged. Because if people can come from Tel Aviv, theBBC, and all over the world to interview him, that means he can use that thing to make money,” Shiti explained.

He joked that the Kenyan government should even consider his home as a tourist attraction due to the number of people coming from outside and within Kenya to meet the self-proclaimed Jesus of Tongaren.

“Having Jesus in Kenya is not a normal thing, we had discussions with him to see how he can package the ‘Jesus thing’ well so that it brings him money and builds him up because the truth of the matter is that he is not Jesus, he is just a Luhya called Simiyu,” Shiti joked.

Asked if he is ready to help him implement the advice he gave him, especially in the whole matter of packaging himself and turning that fame into money, Shiti said;

“I am 100% ready to hold his hand, we move with him so that his fame does not just fade like that. I will help him without even benefiting from anything, but he should be helped. You know he is already a brand, imagine the whole of Kenya knows him, so there is a way he can use that to his gain and tell him not to be afraid.”
