Kenyan comedian 2Mbili has addressed public speculation surrounding his recent visit to hospitalized gospel artist Ringtone Apoko, explaining his decision to film the entire encounter.
The footage, shared on his Instagram, shows 2Mbili and his team purchasing fruits at a market before delivering them to Ringtone's hospital bedside—a gesture he insists was genuine, not content creation.
In the viral video, 2Mbili presents apples and bananas to Ringtone, citing medical advice: "The doctor said these fruits will help increase your blood levels and strengthen your body." However, he preempted criticism about filming the act, clarifying:
"People might think this is just for content, but I’m documenting it as evidence. Without video proof, others would claim no one visited the 'gospel chairman' when he was sick. Now, there’s no doubt."
"I can’t just say empty words—they have to see it," he added.

Ringtone’s Mystery Illness and Unusual Request
Despite the visit, Ringtone—known for his controversial persona—declined to disclose what landed him in the hospital. Instead, he tasked 2Mbili with an unexpected errand: "Don’t forget to tell Cassypool to visit me here."
This sparked a lively debate among 2Mbili’s entourage about the whereabouts of Cassypool, the polarizing social media commentator currently dividing his time between Kenya and Tanzania, where he’s gained a fervent following.
"We’re not sure if he’s even in Kenya," one companion remarked. But 2Mbili countered confidently: "No, I saw him yesterday near CJ’s Restaurant on Koinange Street. He’s here—I’ll make sure he gets the message."
The visit has stirred mixed reactions online:
Supporters applaud 2Mbili’s transparency, arguing the video counters Kenya’s culture of "fake concern" among celebrities.
Skeptics question why a private hospital visit needed documentation, suggesting it exploits Ringtone’s condition for clout.
Notably, the exchange reveals deeper industry dynamics. Ringtone’s call for Cassypool—a figure synonymous with online drama—hints at potential unresolved tensions or a staged reconciliation. Meanwhile, 2Mbili’s insistence on evidence reflects how Kenyan celebrities navigate public perception in an era where "proof" trumps trust.
In a follow-up interview, 2Mbili expanded on his motives: "In our world, if you help quietly, people say you did nothing. If you film it, they call it a stunt. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t."
He stressed that the fruits were purchased after consulting Ringtone’s medical team, rejecting claims of opportunism.
