Veteran gospel singer Rose Muhando has spoken out for the first time after TikTok revived her song Amina, which she composed and released in 2009.
Speaking to entertainment journalists recently, Muhando said that even she doesn't know what made Tiktokers so interested in the song that they started using it to do dance challenges.
The song Amina has been used to do dance challenges by various people on the platform where they cut and use the part where Rose Muhando sings about the devil falling down!

Muhando revealed that in the past she was not a fan of social media and even now her children are the ones who alert her on the re-discovering involving the songs, some which she released over 15 years ago, thanks to social media technology.
“I really thank God and I am very happy with you Tiktok. I was not a fan of social media in the past and even now it’s my children who alert me saying ‘mama ona’ while extending the phone to me. [In the song] I only thought about rebuking demons, fighting with the devil and I don’t often go on Tiktok,” Muhando said.

The long-time evangelist said that people doing your work without you asking them to do is a true honor and that it is one way to show that the gospel message cannot change despite the different generations.
“I thank God so much for all those who have done the Tiktok challenge and through them the devil has fallen! That I have glorified God for them and I pray for them, they have truly done a great job. People doing your work and you did not send them, with love they have done it, God bless them greatly, I have every reason to thank them,” Muhando added.
Muhando also thanked secular artist Harmonize for being one of the catalysts for the viral challenge, albeit indirectly.

The video of Harmonize performing his song on stage and falling down was edited by TikTok users who also changed the sound of the song to that of Rose Muhando's song to make it look like he was participating in the Amina viral challenge.
"The people on TikTok themselves know why they did the editing. We all know that Harmonize usually dances like that in his songs but people took it and edited it when he fell down, I think they just liked how he fell down."
"But God bless him too, he has become like a great catalyst," Muhando added.
